i have a hoodscoop i bought for my 02 stang, how hard is it to install streight?

i have 2 options

1)get a friend to do it free, but i risk the fact he could **** it up and drill holes in my hood crooked

2) get it done professionally for 150 bucks....



this thing allready cost me 200 bucks plus painting..... how hard is it to do? whats the easiest way?


any tips appriciated

If your worried that He might not get it straight, Than have it done proffessionaly. You dont want to make a freindship g sour over something that would of cost under 200 to have done.

In carpentry the rule is "measure twice cut once". For installing a hood scoop I'd say measure 100x cut once!

What sort of scoop is it? if the holes are symetrical, spaced evenly on both side, then the drilling shouldn't be too tough. Save $150 & have pride telling guys you installed it yourself. Peronally I like other peoples cars a lot more when I hear they worked on it themselvesinstead of just signing checks to have stuff done.

DIY. Ive done it.. theres nothing to it. Lay it on the hood and mark where the bolts touch, and drill em out. Make sure to seal them though, theres nothing worse than half assing working on your own car

OMG...$150?!! Take it to a collision repair shop, I had a Mineral grey scoop they'd charge 80 to paint, 80 to mount, plus like 20 for labor. Luckily, I found one in the right color, so when I go back it'll just be $80.

I'd say have it done professionally, but not for $150!
This way if the shop screws up...they pay for a new hood not you!
