RE: Covering Center Console with fiberglass
the center consol is designed to give a little when IE your elbo is rested on it, so Body Filler will not work as it will crack and peal off.. Only think I can say is go to a junk yard and see if they got one thats in good shape for cheep..
You could try that resign stuff that you can paint brush on, but not sure how well that would stick to it.
kinda like useing this http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...LXFFC1&P=D

RE: Covering Center Console with fiberglass
It isnt soo much as a problem with the console. I'm making a fiberglass dash this summer, and I want to keep the shape of my console, as well as the structural integrity of the hard plastic, and match it to the appearance of the painted fiberglass dash. All I'm asking is what substance would work just to cover the console to make it smooth and get it ready for paint. It is not really in that bad of shape, that it needs to be replaced with a new one to be covered.

If you just want to replace it go to www.car-part.com. I found a convertible, same year as mine at a junkyard 10 minutes away. Got a new quarter window for $65 and one of the door trim panels for $5. =D
