A few suspension Q's

Ok so basically my shocks are shot on my near stock 89 LX. So I am going to be getting new ones and was wondering what the rest of the 5.0 community likes to see in their ride for shocks. I do not do anything special with the car it is just my DD so I don't need adjustable ones or anything to expensive. I am just looking for something that will give me a nice comfortable ride. I also am going to buy some lowering springs and thought I will just have them put the new springs on while they are in there for the shocks and struts. I haven't looked around to much but for shocks I was thinking about KYB GR-2 Front and Rear http://www.dallasmustang.com/page/pr...hp?category=11 And for lowering the car a bit I was thinking I would get the Ford Racing Springs http://www.americanmuscle.com/forac.html I was also wondering if I get lowering springs does that mean I need different or special shocks? Would the set up I picked out work alright?

So any comments or other idea's would be very helpful to me. Thanks guys

RE: A few suspension Q's

lowering an inch to 1-12" doesn't require special shocks or struts. it might make the ride harsher though.you may be able to get springs with the same or softer ratings (#/in of compression) call around to the manufacturers to be sure. ckeck maximum motorsports spring chart on line and compare the spring rates, & lenght to your stock ones.
KYB makes a good shock/strut combo, but so does monroe &ford. call around on $$. edelbrock makes a veriable rate shock that might make the rear ride better on the street, don't really know.
