Are chips worth the money?
Can anyone out there who has installed a performance chip tell me if they think it was worth it. My car is a 99 GT 4.6 with a cold air intake a mass flow meter flow master two chamber exhaust (cat back system)and a hurst short throw shifter. Do you think I would definetly feel the difference in performance. I believe I currently Have around 300 hp now. I just want to step it up a bit more untill next years tax returns buy my I beam connecting rods, forged pistons, cobra R heads ect. Then I can throw a paxton supercharger on this bitch the following year. I hope the T-45 trans will hold up under 500 or more hp. I want to go corvete hunting soon. I believe in bringing superior fire power on hunting trips lol. Beware corvete owners soon you will see nothing but the vapor trail of one fast pony!!

Cold air and MAF: 10hp
Flowmasters: 4hp
Shifter: 0hp
265+ 14 = 279, not 300.
But other than that, you're on the right track. I'd reccomend some 4.10 rear end gears. They'll give you a really decent kick in the pants for acceleration. Don't worry about CobraR heads, just have yours ported, get some VT stage II blower cams, a NOVI 2000, forged connecting rods and pistons, intake, mid-pipe, headers, and a really good dyno tune.
Then you'll be well on your way to corvette hunting! Beware, those t45's don't like to push that much power. Some will last, others won't.
