can a noob install an air filter?
I was at the k&n website and saw that the parts 69-3522 and 57-2566 looked good. I was wondering if I, a complete noob, would be able to install either one of these myself.
I had also heard that cold air intakes need a tuner, would I need a tuner if I bought either of the forementioned parts.

honestly I don't even know. k&n doesn't say what each part is specifically. but the part model #69-3522 is a typhoon intake system, and the part model #57-2566 is a fuel injection performance kit.

If I remember correctly, the FIPK is better... but honestly they probably will give you the same gains
I know on the S197 GTs that when you get a CAI and eliminate the stock intake system, you need a tuner because it drastically improves air flow so much that the A/F ratio is jacked. I dont know if your 4.0 is same

I just read on the k&n website that the part doesn't need a tuner, so that is out of the way. but I am still concerned about doing it myself, if I screw up will I destroy the engine?

alright thanks guys, though I feel you have more faith in me than I do. but specifically can I hurt the engine by doing this wrong, let's say that I put it on, everything seems fine, but actually the mass air sensor is hooked up wrong or one of the hoses isn't connected properly. could that have permanent detrimental effects?
