Default 3.8l mustang lifespan

does anyone know what the lifespan of a 2001 mustang v6 3.8L is? mine has 80,000miles on it now and im starting to wonder whether or not to hold on to it and do some mods or to sell it and find a car with less miles....any help? thanks

i would love a v8 but with gas prices i plan on staying with a v6 so i dont go bankrupt giving all my money to the gas companies

then start doing simple stuff, like exhaust, intake, chip tune if you don't go with the v8 route. or keep the v6 stang stock and get an older mustang project to build for $500 (the average price youll pay for exhaust). this is all just my opinion.

heres an idea of the lifespan- guy joined earlier this year, 2001 3.8/auto. 415,000 miles on the original engine, no rebuilds.
