Tune issues
2006 GT 4.6, cold air, cat-back exhaust
Am running a 93 tune from VMP Tuning. Problem is around 2000 rpm I have a serious lag. Until it runs up to about 3000 rpm, it feels like a dead pedal. What is the recommended spark retards for these tunes? Also, what is Global Spark?

RE: Tune issues
As far as I understand, when you purchase tunes from shops, they are supposed to require no additional modification on your part in order to make the tune function properly. I would call up that shop you get the tune from

RE: Tune issues
You just have to experiment with it...all cars wont run the same with the can tunes. If your using a SCT tuner then you can adjust your timing for different rpm ranges. If your car runs good in 0-2k rpm range then i would try to adjust the 2-4k rpm range. When i got my 93 tune from brenspeed the timing was too far advanced for my motor...causing "pinging" under a load. I had to retard my 0-2k range 6 degrees and other rpm ranges about 4 degrees.
