Default Saleen SuperCharger electric intercooler pump

I am sorry if I am posting this question in the wrong place. I have a 2007 Mustang with a Saleen SuperCharger installed.
This is probably a stupid question, but I want to make sure I don't damage my car:
The wires to the plug on my electric coolant pump were torn off and hanging down, so I fixed the wiring and checked the fuse. Everything good so far.
When I start my car for the first time during the day after I fixed the wiring, I don't hear the pump running. Does it have to reach a certain temp?
I know that I have heard it running after I have driven the car all day and then parked it and left the keys in acc. position to listen to the radio while washing my car. I could hear clearly hear the pump running then.
I am sorry for the dumb question, but I would greatly appreciate any help with this issue that you can give me.

Thank you,
Keith Orr
