Default Small Steel Nuts on Aluminum Rims , This Ok?

Ok Purchased an 94 Mustang about a month ago, Love he car its Great!! anyhow the previous owner gave me a set of aluminum rims and a set of steel rims, The steel rims were on the car when I got it home I have since pulled the steel rims off and Put the aluminum rims on the car I torqued the lugs to 100 Ftlbs. Now my question is in regards to useing the same small steel lugnuts that were holding the steel rims on, Can or should I re use these with the aluminum rims reason I have concern is I pulled the RF wheel off to replace the Hub last night and there was small tiny aluminum shavings that came off when I took the lugs off to take the wheel off..

was just wondering should i be useing these same steel rim lugs with my aluminum rims I am now but just want to know if its safe or will i chance of loseing a wheel or destroying the rims

thanks in advance

Dave
