Rear Brake Caliper How Do I Compress??Help
Hi.. All... It started out I was just replacing the rear shocks. When I noticed that the rear pads where down to almost studs! I have done front brakes on few differant ford never the rears. In some otherposts I see that you need to turn the rear piston to compress it. My question is which way to turn, and do you turn it until it is compressed??
Thanks
Dave

It turn clockwise. Use a pair of needlenose plyers or for $10 at your local auot parts store they have a tool that will fit you ratchet. It will be difficult at first but will get eaiser once you get going.
One note: I found I needed to activate the ebrake and release it to get mine to begin compressing.
Good luck.

dont turn it till it stops, sometimes the nipple on the backing of the pad needs to line up with the slots on the piston. so turn the piston till its almost fully seated but try to keep the piston slots straight up n down.

www.matcotools.com and get DISC BRAKE CALIPER TOOL Part#: DB25 Price: $119.55
works the best and garrenteed to work with out a hitch. most other cheap tools in auto stores have to be modifed a little for the 2 nipples to line up with the nothces in the pistons.
