Default 429 for 1991 LX

Hi guys! i'm novice here.. Could you tell me is it possible to install 429ci with c6 tranny to 1991 FOX (instead of 2.3 EFI)?
Actually i consider any engine replacement, beacuse 2.3 totally sucks.
I heard about 331 stroker and other engines people install in Fox stangs.
So my questions:
1. what is best engine (price/power) to install in 1991 stang
2. what trasmission is best for whis engine
3. what parts should i change when i replace engine

PS i say again that price should be lowest...

thanks

For the lowest price, you'll want a 302/5.0L based engine with either a manual or OD auto. You'll need to update the rear end and front suspension as well.

A 429/460 will fit in a Fox chassis, and there are kits available, but I wouldn't go that far on anything intended as a daily driver....I'd go with a 521.

so you mean that better to go with 521 instead of 429? what tranny is ok for it? i want to build a drag car but for less money? may be you can give me some tips and how much will cost suspansion and engine with tranny (power/money)?
i think used items on craigslist are suitable..

Well...you'd need to get a better rear end than the 7.5 inch you have now---maybe a 9 inch??? Def. get some subframes and anything else that will enhance the structure of the car. Get a roll bar too.
I think what was meant by going with the 521 was that if you are going to go with the 429 and not have it be daily driver worthy, you might as well go all out and do the extreme.

Not sure what exactally you are looking for but a real easy, simple swap would be to just swap either a 302 5.0 or a 351 5.8 in there. Both motors are capable of pulling a drag car into some serious ET's.

As far as the rear goes, you will have to ugprade to an 8.8, a 9" is most likely overkill. 8.8's can be extremely stout rears if you put a little bit of money into them.

There are going to be alot of things that your going to need to upgrade also like fuel rails, lines, bla bla bla. Look into some tech articles for 4cyl to 8cyl swaps and that will tell you everything you are going to need. Than look into the 302-351 swap and add that to your list. Its not THAT difficult but its certainly a little bit of work.

If you want to stroke the 302 or 351 you have alot of options. Most popular are 331, 347, 393, 408, 418 (max). Do your research and have fun... and save them pennies it can get REAL expensive
