Just buy the CD-2 engine detailer. They carry it at Auto Zone. Looks like the tire dressing or armor all would, but it actually bakes on and takes a lot longer to collect dust, and lasts alot longer too.

Gunk Engine Bright, The Flammable kind works better than the non-flammable. warm your engine (Not hot) Spray it on and hose it off with the engine runing. Do not spray it on the altanator. I have been using it for about 30 years at every oil change. one can will last about three to four cleanings..

The distributor/coil are the round or square units near the top of the motor where the spark plug wires "distribute" from. Cover them with plastic - or keep the water away from that area. And to help matters - as mentioned above, have the engine running while rinsing off.

CD-2 Engine detailer huh?? I'm going to have to give that a try.

I wouldnt worry about the coil packs getting wet,Unless there is a bad wire or something you will have no problem

Hands down Simply Green. Cold engine. Spray it down, wipe the really dirty spots with a rag, spray it off. Your owner's manual actually has the areas you should cover with a rag or something. For 2000 it suggests covering the fuse box on the left, and the intake area.

Never tried detailing it with tire foam...that would look sweet.

ORIGINAL: HAUS

i use simple green.
^^^^^ Works awesome for bug guts too!

Someone mentioned tire foam??? I would think it would SMELL and attract more dirt in an engine compartment.
