Default 4.10:1 speedo recal gear?

I have a 96 GT with the stock T-45 tranny. I have 4.10 gears and i am looking to buy a speedometer recalibration gear. the only place i have been able to find them is on steeda.com. the part numbers for the stock 3.73 gear and the 4.10 gear is the same. i wasn't sure if there was any difference from the two recal gears? if anyone has any experience with this please let me know. thanks

It's only a small clog which goes into a fitment underneath the car. I changed from 3:55's to 4:10's in my '92 notchback last year. Did some research but it turns out that clogs are only made to fit as high as the 3:73's. Therefore I purchased that one and after install (matter of seconds), went to the highway with my buddy infront of me in a grandprix with cellphones, and did speed tests in fifth gear from 60-140 kph to see how far the speedometer was off. It worked out to about 20 kph over (If it said 80 I was doing 60). Anyhow man, hope it helps. Goodluck!

if you can't get the right speedo gear, contact a commercial (truck) speedo shop. alot of them have in-line reduction gear boxes that can be geared to whatever you need and be dead on. not cheap, but neither is a speeding ticket.

I'm not too UP on your year car, but with the newer ones, a hand held tuner is the fix to this. I might be wrong in your case.

Haha buster loving the parts list. I imagine that pine scented air freshner is good for a few tenths on the 1/4 mile =)
