i jus recently found out that i have a leak on the bottom of tha water pump gasket. what all do i ahve to do to take of the water pump to replace the gasket? also i have a leak in my rear main seal i think, i orginally thought it was the oil level sensor so i siliconed it then i cleaned off tha oil pan and found a drip cumin down where tha oil pan meets up wit tha tranny, im have a alright knowledge around this but do u suggest me jus takin to my mechanic?

what is ur mechanical ability? rear main seal is a lot of work. water pump isnt that bad. you almost might as well upgrade the water pump while ur at it.

well it isnt exaclty all tha high on cars, i cud rebuild a dirtbike engine easily but thats a lil different, same kind of principiles tho. i htink i shud be able to do tha water pump this weekend cuz i was lookin n ithink its only tha power steering pump that needs to *** off then drain tha antifreeze then it shud *** off. but fer tha rear main seal ill get a mechanic to do, i dont have a lift n dont hink i have tha ability to do it .

Just amke sure when you get the new water pump that you take off the metal plate that is on it and seal the the gasket behind it with sealer. I didn't think about this the first time I replaced my waterpump and what do you know..it started leaking again. Never could figure out why the pump has two gaskets, but make sure you sela them both so you wont have to go fussing with it again.
