Default Driving my 04 GT from Kansas to Georgia and have some issues

OK so I just bought a 2004 Silver Mustang GT with 23000 miles on it and i will have to get it back to Savanna GA just after new years for school. I have owned other Mustangs in my past such as a 403 whp 94 gt. One of my issues with these cars the way they preform in the snow/wet. Does anyone have any suggestions to make this trip easier/safer? Or Does anyone have any suggestions for road tripping in a mustang in general.

Thanks,
Andx

TIP:
When it snows, stay off the road unless you have 4wd. Mustangs suck in the snow, especially with 315 out back. Turn off traction control if you have to drive in it.
