Default Power steering Valve rebuild

Hi,
I am attempting to rebuild the control valve in my 1965 mustang as it is leaking fluid around the ball stud. Cant get the valve unit loose from the rod that has the ball stud in it. What is the trick? Posted this in the classic mustang section and no responses. Thanks

Did you take the cap off the other end of che control valve? There should be a nut on the spring that comes off allowing the two halves of the valve to separate.
