Default not fully a mustang, but damn close

i just picked up a 4runner that has a 5.0 in it. i was told its from a totalled 97. i just need some specs. what octane i should run. an estimate of how mcuh torque and hp i have. just general things i should know about my engine. thanks guys.

1997's didn't have 5.0's, well from stangs anyways, maybe explorers were still using them?

Anywho, I would think about 180hp or so and 250-260tq.

It is, but a very popular conversion for those is yankin' the toy motor out and putting Ford V-8's in. Apparently it's an easy swap. Only thing needing to fab are motor mounts.

I had a friend that I met as a commercial account manager for CSK and he does all sorts of fabbing and restoring for fords and conversions using Ford motors. Even put a Ford Big-block into an early 90's Vette...then stuck a powered by Ford emblem on it.
