Hi all. I've been off the forum for a bit with all my projects and car shows. Anyway, it's time to get back on my CobraZ. I find the C4 is toast and I want to go with an AOD.

What I need to know is: Well,everything...lol...Like what year and model to get it out of, what extras I need, like torque converter, flex plate, wiring, linkage, ect. Exactly how does an AOD work? Is it electronically shifted into overdrive? Or. does it use a TV cable. And, what exactly is a TV cable? As you may have guessed by now, I'm quite ignorant when it comes to the AOD.

I'm running an 82 5.0 mustang, carbed, hot street can, and the mustang shorty headers. I have a 3:36 gear in the rear diffy. I don't want a stall conveter. I just need something to keep the r's down while I'm on the expressway. Thanks guys. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
