I see some people do that at times. Who here does that and why? I always thought it was bad of the engine.

Is it a long, lasted out rev at low RPM...Or a sudden, quick high RPM rev?

If it's a long rev, they may be trying to charging their battery. If it's a sudden, quick rev they're probably just showing off.

It's a bad stupid habit,, a throwback from the OLD OLD days when people used to think the car would restart easier if there's some fuel already in the combustion chamber.

Actually that fuel winds up trickling past the rings and contaminating the engine oil

I used o rev my 94gt before i sht it off but they were long revs to charge up my batt a little cause i was having issues with the charging system which the problem turned out to be the under drive pullies causing the low charing.

From what I understand it is real bad when you rev the motor and shut it down when your running a turbo. It spools the turbo up and when you shut the motor off it is still spooling with no oil circulation. LMAO I am glad to see I am not the only 1 having those charging issues with these underdrive pulleys.

Well I no longer have a charging issue. I put the stock pullies back on. They are just not worth having on unless I were to make the car full track racing. 5-15hp is not gonna make that much of a difference on the street to notice.

I never rev my motor before I turn it off. I let it idle for a few seconds to let the oil recirculate throughout the supercharger though.
