How to recognize a Tremec/TTC 3rd gear.
Rebuilding my 93 Cobra spec Borg Warner T5. It needs 3rd gear and a cluster shaft.
Ordered both pieces from Canada-Wide Parts Distributors. I chose them because they are a TTC(Borg Warner) Tremec authorized parts dealer.
The cluster is the good one. It has like a black finish, came in a Tremec brand box, I'm happy.
The 3rd gear came in a Quality Gear box. Part number on the box is 1352 080 151. Right number according to Borg Warner but no name on the gear itself. I'm concerned this is a cheap imitation.
TTC(Transmission Technologies Corporation), which is Tremec claims a Tremec 3rd gear will have "Tremec" written somewhere on the 3rd gear itself. Does anyone have a Tremec brand 3rd gear to confirm this for me?
Thanks.

Is it nobody knows or nobody is interested?
Well just in case it's nobody knows. Here is the answer.
The 3rd gear from Tremec has a forging number embossed into the part. The "Quality Gear" brand gear has the number printed on.
My broken cluster, which probably broke my 3rd speed gear also looks very different from the Tremec T5 replacement cluster. It's got a black finish and the part number is punched into the casting. My broken cluster has the part number inked on.
