Question 92 Mustang Convertible Trunk won't open

I closed my trunk tonight with my son's baseball equipment in it and now it won't open. The release button causes a click at the trunk latch but doesn't release it. The key turns with no resistance. Tried pushing down hard on the trunk lid and using the key & button to no avail. How can I get in to 1) Get to the contents? and 2) Fix the problem?

Thanks,
JKG

Dynamite. If you don't mind a little char it should rectify both problems. Seriously I think the back seat has to come out to give you access to the fvcked up lock...

Default Locked out of trunk (1993 conv.)

I was able to remove the two license plate lights and get my fingers on the lock. There are two spring clips but I can't seem to remove them with one finger. I would appreciate a photo of the inside of the trunk in the lock area so I can see what I'm trying to deal with.
Anyone got Photos? I'll post my e-mail if someone has photos.
