Power seat will go up, down, and back, but not forward??
 

I have a 97' ford mustang. The driver power seat will move every direction except forward. I noticed that the motor is moving just fine, and so is the flex-shaft to the gearbox. I believe the gear is messed-up. Any ideas??? If not, can I switch the hardware from the "manual passenger seat" to the "auto driver seat" and vice versa? :confused:

the gears are grinded up like you mentioned if the motor is moving and the flex shaft is moving. Ya should beable to swap it out for a manual adjuster. Just go to a junk yard and look for a wrecked 6 banger stang.
