Power seat will go up, down, and back, but not forward??

Power seat will go up, down, and back, but not forward??
I have a 97' ford mustang. The driver power seat will move every direction except forward. I noticed that the motor is moving just fine, and so is the flex-shaft to the gearbox. I believe the gear is messed-up. Any ideas??? If not, can I switch the hardware from the "manual passenger seat" to the "auto driver seat" and vice versa?

the gears are grinded up like you mentioned if the motor is moving and the flex shaft is moving. Ya should beable to swap it out for a manual adjuster. Just go to a junk yard and look for a wrecked 6 banger stang.
