Simple question, which do you think is better?

The 4.6 is definatly a more advanced design, but the aftermarket is not there yet for them. I like the 5.0 as motor to build, they are cheap and have a ton of parts avalible.

4.6 is a more advanced, smoother engine. You will get alot of pros and cons on who likes what best with a question like this. Once you have owned an overhead cam engine there is no going back.....especially if it is a DOHC-4V engine.

I don't know much about these engines. The 4.6 is SOHC, and the 5.0 isn't overhead, correct?

I've owned both and would much rather have a pushrod 5.0 anyday.Easier to work on not to mention cheaper and responed to mods better IMO.

Reliability on the 5.0 is unquestionably better.....not to dog the 4.6 but the 5.0 design has been around a looonng time so reliability should be better.

5.0s are the easiest things in the world to work on. its even easier when its carbureted

as an 4.6 owner i hate the engine. That is also why i am a 4.6 seller
