Would it be a good or bad idea to purchase a car off of ebay. Of course I would do the carfax and ask the seller about the problems with the car, but should I not do it? I was just looking and saw that most of the cars that are sold on there are sold for way less than teh blue book price and dont look bad. Any feedback would help

I bought mine off eBay.
I knew it had a salvage title though and it wasn't an issue for me.
Might want to email the seller and ask him to have compression and leakdown tests done with the condition that the sale isn't final (if you win) until you can reproduce (within reason) his stated results.

Otherwise figure that you're getting a steal and there's going to be potential problems that will come up.

you can find one fairly close and check it out ,there are 3rd party inspections, Have him list all problems since it's a binding contract and you find a big problem when you go to pick it up. pass on the deal. get picks of every panel and the undercarriage..if he won't pass either he's lazy or hiding something you don't want to part with your hard earned $$ on either

No way around it, it's always a risk, but those are some great ideas to help reduce your chance of getting screwed.

I was actually thinking of posting my car on Ebay. I've never sold anything on there though. What do you guys think I could get for it?
