Car starts to overheat while air conditioner is on.

Just to be clear, with the A/C off in stop and go traffic, do you overheat? Driving is definitely going to drop your coolant temps, but if you can't idle without an overheating, you're problem is not related to the A/C. I live in Arizona and it's 112 right now. I can idle just fine with A/C on, just like everyone else. My guess is that you need a new water pump. or maybe the thermostat is not fully opened. Once the car is fully warmed up, if you touch the radiator hose is it hot, warm or cold?

no i dont..but i just put 160 thermastat in and sat in my drive way for about 40 min and it started to go past the halfway mark..so i shut her off and i noticed the overflow must of spit some antifreeze out..i just dont know what to do..i know the radiator get extremly hot

Sorry if this is a repeat (didn't read the thread) but is there any possible way this could be some sort of wiring problem with the gauges or anything? That might be stupid of me to say since I really have no idea but it just sounds kind of odd with the AC although I could see that happening.
I remember in my old Mazda 626 I had an over heating issue that never seemed to go away. took three thermostats, (I learned to replace them myself pretty darn quick after doing it three times lol), couple other things, and finally a new radiator to keep it from overheating.

I think Socalwrench is right, it has to be fan related which is why it doesn't happen during open driving (more air flow)
Edit: just saw you said it was mechanical... This may sound silly but check to make sure the fan blades aren't installed backwards. It's been done before.
Make sure the radiator FAN is working when you use the AC.
If not check the CCRM (Constant Control Relay module) module, fan wiring and the temperature sensor.
The CCRM module controls the fan and AC relays. It is located behind the coolant overfill bottle.
Also as a precaution check the thermostat and have the cooling system cleaned.
