Used SC or just go with CAI/Tunes?
When I got my GT a few months ago, I told myself that the most I'd do to the car's performance (aside from wider wheels and tires) was a CAI and a tune.
The more I read about superchargers, though, the more I really want to get one. And the more I look at the prices, the more I remember that I have a mortgage, car payments and other bills to pay.
Are there deals out there on used superchargers, or should I just go CAI/Tunes and not even think about SC's? (I was even thinking about checking junk yards for totaled GT's with superchargers, but it would be hard to know if one was damaged).

It really depends on what you're looking for vs what your budget can allow. I recently installed my C&L CAI with a diablosport tune and it's well worth the money, but you know how mods go...they always leave you wanting more!
If you want to go straight up for a lot of power and torque and can afford it, ide say skip the CAI. But CAI/tuner combo's usually run about $600 whereas superchargers are like ten million dollars.
Plus CAI/tuner combos are super easy to install yourself so you can feel like a superhero with minimal tools.

From what I'm seeing, SC's can be had for $3000 to $6000. That's not impossible money. It would just take awhile to get it together.
As for the wrenching, I've been working on cars for about 42 years, doing everything from painting and bodywork to tearing down and rebuilding motors. I don't think installing a supercharger would be too difficult.
The idea of 450 hp really is appealing, especially after a guy in a new Camaro challenged me the other day, and I knew I couldn't take him on.

They really aren't that fast though because of their weight. 50hp worth of bolt-ons in the Mustang would put the power-to-weight ratio of both cars quite close.
