I know it's expensive and complicated.
Its just something I want to do, and the reasoning is fairly simple... Both the RX-7 and the Toyota Supra used sequential turbo setups, as examples, but both had fairly compact engine designs, with single exhaust from the engine.
In contrast, most V-Style engines (and a few straight 6's) run parallel twin turbos. My object is to have two turbos with a peak efficiency around 2500 RPMs, for the low end torque found in most factory turbo cars (I work at a Mazda - VW dealership...and the GTI is pretty fun with its 1800 RPM torque peak), and two more to peak at 5500, for the persistent imports and bikes that race from a 60mph roll--and of course track time, once they build another one here.
With properly sized waste gates, it would be possible to spin four turbos without over-spinning the first two, and still keep the boost manageable.

The Hellion twin setup at Lethal is set to run twin turbos into a supercharger...so why not twins into twins?
