Default Can you warp a cast 5.0?

I was just curious if you could warp a cast 5.0? Im having problems getting my timing cover and water pump to stop leaking. Its an engine i bought from someone so who knows what he did to it. My friend suggested that the block could be warped. Has anyone ever heard of this happening?

I'm sure you COULD warp a cast iron 5.0, but you'd have to do something extreme to it. Like park it underneath a space shuttle during liftoff.

Try replacing your timing chain cover and water pump.

Blocks almost never warp and never in the area you are talking about, heads do. My guess is that you are just getting the seals in right or there is a crack in the timing cover. 99% sure the block is not causing the issue.
