I put together the parts for block from themustangdepot.com online to get idea, plus some parts from jegs.com that themustangdepot didnt have such as flex fan, carb, manifold, etc. Got stroker kits for 347 as well. The cost for it is about 6500, sound right to me. Hope that I'd get block started to be work on in couple of weeks. It'd take me awhile to get it done. I'm in no hurry, gonna do a piece at a time. But I have few questions for you guys.
Radiator that I have is several years old and it's stock type. No leak since. I'm thinking about going with BeCool alum radiator or will stock one work ok? BeCool radiator cost like 400 bucks.
For rearend gear, I found 3.55 gear ratio for around 200 bucks and aburn locker for 500 bucks. I'm wondering if any of you guys has 3.55 in your older mustang. Should I go with 3.08? Or 3.55 be fine? I would hate to stop every 100-150 miles to fill up tank on long road trip in it.
I'm going get alum driveshaft as well, I was told that it'd help about 10 to 30 percents for power and milage over stock driveshaft. Even stronger also. Anyone have it too?

I use my own....but there are any number of them available.

A cast steel crank kit with forged pistons and aftermarket rods should run a bit over $900.00 with rings and bearings.

You will also have to clearance the bottom of the cylinders where the rod bolt swings.

How about the 3.55 gears and a six speed?
