Default '84 'Stang: Transmission/driveshaft gap, how much is too much?

So the insertion part of the yoke on the transmission side is 5" long.
I just had an aluminum driveshaft put in my '84 5.0 5-spd, and now the gap is 2" long.

Is this cause for alarm???
Or is it just kinda... "Well... it'll work..." but it'll look sloppy doing it' type thing.

Thanks!

Are you saying your new driveshaft is 2" shorter?
