Default Problem with my 92 GT

My 1992 Mustang GT is overheating. I will describe to you what it is doing. Well first of all it only does it sometimes like when the heat is blasting or when it is on the highway. Other times I have no problems with the car at all. I also noticed that coolant leaks but what doesn't make sense is that there is no coolant in my garage. I can only guess it leaks when the car is in motion. When the car overheats the temperature gauge goes all the way hot and steam comes out from the hood. And also when the heat is on and it overheats it starts to blow cold air. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? My guess is a water pump or possibly a heater core. If anyone has any ideas or further questions please let me know. My email address is heretic0011@yahoo.com. Thanks

You should do a compression test on the radiator. If you loose pressure it could be a head gasket, cracked block, freeze plug. Take the radiator cap off and start the car. Watch the coolant. It should be flowing once the motor reaches normal temp. Check to see if it does. If it gets hot and overflows out the radiator than it sounds like a blown head gasket. After the engine gets warmed up and the coolant is still cold and not circulating than it could be your pump or thermostat.

Im actually having a similar problem with my 92 GT... Back in march it overheated one day with out notice. Never had a leak or wet spot in the garage at all or anything and onday boom it happened. Came to find out it was the water pump. Had the water pump replaced, drove car for a week and bam , started over heating again. Replaced thermo a few weeks later, still O H. Had a compression test done and nothing is leaking or losing compression. Head gasket is fine no smoke or water in oil. Just looked today and the top raditor hose looked loose and to my surprise the piece that the hose goes over was completly off. So now i know it needs new radiator. But ive noticed before this inside radiator is all white and looks Corroded . Could this be my cause of OH? Ive tried everything that everyone has told me? and how hard is it to change the radiator?

Thanks
