90 mustang PCV & Crankcase filter locations!!!!!
I have a 1990 mustang that i recently tuned up. In the owners manual it says to check and replace the PCV & Crankcase filter and I cant seem to find these items. Pictures 1, 2, & 3 give you an idea of the engine compartment and pictures 4 & 5 are the parts Autozone gave me for my car....
Could anyone please tell me where in the pictures the PCV & Crankcase filter are located????? Thank you.... pic 1 http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...0/P1010260.jpg Pic 2 http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...0/P1010267.jpg Pic 3 http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...0/P1010270.jpg pic 4 http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...0/P1010283.jpg Pic 5 http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...0/P1010284.jpg |
The Crankcase filter should looks like this.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...k/MVC-013F.jpg And to remove that filter you can remove it with either a pair of needle nose pliers or a screw screwed in the the mesh to help you slide the filter out. Where this filter is located at is at the very backside of the lower intake. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...onandParts.jpg And this is a where you'd place the filter. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...k/MVC-003F.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...k/MVC-005F.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...k/MVC-012F.jpg |

Hopefully you also received the following instruction as to what you need to cap ? If not http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...CVInstruct.jpg |
Another Question
the car has about 144, 000 miles on it. Is the PCV and Crank filter necessary to replace???? I put new rotor, bosch plat-2 spark plugs, dist. cap, oil change, and dist. wires. I have not set the timing yet and the problem I am having is that when you step on the gas you can feel a little hestitation in the car. It did this before and after the tune-up.
What do you think this could be????? |
