hello,
my name is justin. im 18 and curretly own a 1987 ford mustang lx hatchback 2.3l non-turboed. i was just given a 292 i belive and it needs to be rebuilt. my problem is i know how to do the work but i dont know what parts ill need or what will fit into the 292. as now all i know about it is a 302 heads will fit on to the block but a crank for the 302 will not fit into the block of the 292. before i received my 292 i was just going to rebuild my 2.3L and but a turbo on it witch i was told by a local shop that if it was built right i could but a 10lb boost and i would get roughly 300-350 hp out of it. but since i was given this engine i figured i might as well but it in my babe instead. i was advised to find a forum and make a post what what parts i should get and what i should have done to it. im also wanting at some time to put a t-56 tranny and a super charger on it. any advice would be greatly appericiated. thank you.

I think you mean a 289. I can't tell you where to find parts for that though. You might want to post this question an genral tech or the 5.0 forum. Welcome to the forum. Good luck and have fun.

Never heard of a 292 but I don't claim to know it all either. If there is such a thing, I am sure it is similar to a 289. Anyway, I am sure there is a thread for any questions you have in the tech sections. Good luck.
