Should I salvage it or let it go to car hell?
Until two weeks ago, I drove a 2002 GT coupe. I was rear-ended on the freeway and the car's frame is too badly damaged to repair. Just the rear-end is damaged, the motor (115,000 well taken care of miles), trans and chromed bullitt OEM wheels are okay, as is the 6-CD radio and leather seats. The insurance co. will sell it back to me for $1200, and I can't decide if I should keep it or let it go. I'm looking to buy a newer Mustang GT and don't know if the wheels (17x8?) will fit on the newer style GTs. I'm a single gal with no one to pull the parts to piece it out, so I'm wondering if it's really worth it to keep it. I just really loved that car. What do you guys think?

well, you said the frame is too bad for repair, obviously you dont want to let it go to waste, if you had the time and money and all that....it would be a great project/salvaged car....took me 3 years just to get mine able to roll of the lot without a tow truck...took so long bc i was only 15 at the time and not into the money haha....or just slowely here and there remove parts, doesnt have to be all at once does it? your not like on a timeline?

I'd like to point out a little bit of a different perspective.
If you plan on CUSTOMIZING another new-edge and you have the money to buy back the car, I would get it. For one, spare parts are very convenient if you have the room to store them and if they fit your current car. Also, for me, it helped me a TON to tear it down to nothing. It's free experience. If you have your work done by someone else, however, I don't guess it would be as much of a benefit. (not being condescending, wrench turning can really get old if you don't work to stay interested in it)
