Default Help me decide on what year mustang I want

95 mustang gt 5.0 vs. the 2000ish mustang gt body style. I like both body styles. Which year would be the best, for supercharger on a stock motor with the biggest hp gains. I just want a stock mustang with a supercharger. I want to keep it simple without adding tons of bolts ons. Which one should go with.

important features (I need)
ABS
Fuel mileage
Reliable
Need to pass emissions
Daily driven

i say go with a 99-04. alot of the old sn95 5.0's are in rough shape (except the rare garage queen and the resto'd ones). the 96-98 gt's won't like boost as much as the 99-04 because of compression ratio and if you dont want boltons you definately won't wanna pi swap it.

The 99-04 gt will respond better to a blower, and anything else that you could throw at it. Plus they can be had for so dang cheap know, i think you'd be crazy not to get one if you're on a budget.

find an 04 or 03, you can find them relatively cheap and in good shape. the 5.0's are gonna be way more beaten on, and being nearly 10 years older, will show it alot more.

newer 4.6's LOVE boost up to the limits of the bottom end.

what sort of emissions restrictions do you have? and, altho it is possible to get pretty good gas milage out of a mustang considering, thats not one of the reasons you should buy one. gotta pay to play...

I'd go 94/95 Mustang GT or Cobra...Push rod engines simple to work on and cheaper to buy!

If i go with a 2000ish how much boost could i run (psi), with out setting a CEL. light? I think you have to have atlest 6 out of 8 IM monitors ready (emission). can you drive around with a Centrifugal Supercharger pipe disconnected for emission reason, without damaging the supercharger. sorry about all the emission question but its a real pain in the *** to get around in my county.

if your CEL ever comes on because of how much boost your running, your tuner should be fired. vortechs are carb approved arent they? theres no reason you can't pass an emissions test. your not even in california.
