Stall Converter opinion's????

I need help! I need a stall converter but don't know what to go with. I have a 331 stroker. I've built it myself, my 1st engine. Hoping to get between 400 and 500 hp. It has eagle cast steel crank, eagle sir- I beam rods, Keith Black forged 11 cc flat top piston, tfs 2 cam 2,500 -6,oooo is power range, pro comp alum heads, weiand stealth intake, amd 750 speed demon elec choke and vac sec. And a C4 built with transgo shift kit. 17 in 3 star rims with 245/45 and stock rear end in a 87 gt. Should I have one built for $225 or buy one off the shelf from somewhere

What rear gear ratio? Are you wanting to make it a pure drag car or what?

i'm not sure where your looking but i have never seen a converter worth a sh!t under $500, and never even seen one for $225

i'm also assuming your using an AOD

but first thing, i promise you if you go less than 3000 you'll be really pi$$ed, 3500+ is a must

i only hear good things about precision, and lentech

fyi , i used a tci 2200 and it felt like stock in my '90 AOD car

was going to have one built from a place B&I close to where I live. How bout ptc they said 375 heard any good things about them

like bob said, no such thing as a good converter under $500. fwiw, i paid $800 for mine. if you go off the shelf, get a 4000rpm stall. they never stall as high as they are rated for.

bought a 3000-3500 from ptc
