66 mustang tranny backwards?
Brand new member and brand new Mustang owner here. Quick question. On my 66 coupe after having bought it about 2 weeks ago, some argument has arisen surrounding my transmission. Older fellows I know and everything on the web has told me to drive the car on "the big dot" for my 3 speed. Something to the tune of the little dot is either just gear 2 or gears 2 & 3 and the big one being 1, 2 & 3. However on mine the big dot I'm fairly sure is just 1 & 2 and I can definitely feel the little dot shifting all three. should I be concerned? Was the tranny changed and the shifter base never changed? Thoughts?

The small dot keeps the transmission from shifting to first when you come to a stop. It starts out in 2nd, and then shifts to 3rd. The owners manual says it's to improve traction in snow, sand, etc.
I kept mine on the big dot all the time, as I didn't drive it in the snow.
