Default Question Please Help?!?

<FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color=magenta size=1>I have a 1986 mustang which orgianlly had a 4 cylinder in it, I changed it out to a 1972 302 Ford motor, Now I can't get it to start with the key? anyone know why? You can turn the key on and start it with the cylinoid or whatever, lol! My spelling isn't great, but you can't start it with the key. I am also having a hard time getting the right firing order. I have used both the 302 and the 351 firing order but neither are getting it right. I had to change the distributor to eliminate the computer box for the 86 motor. Hoep soemone can help I am carless, lol!! </FONT></P>

Default Question Please Help?!?

sounds like a personal problem to me; or if the starter and nothing is cranking when you turn the key, its an electrical problem, or else its just bad firing order/timing/carbouration.

Ok, I didn't happen to mention before that I am also going from a manual transmission to an automatic. Could this be a result of the clutch safety switch not being hooked up? I did get the right firing order and now she purrs like a kitten but still can't figure out why she won't start with the key. Thanks for the help <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></P><edited><editID>pixelchic</editID><editDate>37956.0188425926</editDate></edited>

Well it would be an easy fix if I could get it to start with the key, lol </P>

And what is wrong with girl germs?!? Would you rather have boy germs?!? Or was that a nudge at me cause I am girl who is interested in cars? LOL! You should see my livingroom, it is a shrine to Dale Earnhardt And my hubby doesn't mind my girl germs at all when it comes to helping him with cars. I only know what I know cause I pay attention and am not afraid to get a little dirty from time to time. I certainly do not want to be one of those women stuck on the side of the road with no idea what to do. I feel bad for those women, but I think they should at least learn how to change a tire. My 3 young daughters will certainly learn how to maintain their own cars. My 9 year old daughter lays under cars with her dad now I think it is great! I just don't want them to have to depend on a garage that will just rip them off or a man for that matter. Just as they will learn to hunt and fish. Ok so I wrote a book now, lol But thanks for your all your help, it is greatly appreciated </P>
