better to buy a gt and build up?
Right now i have a 99 v6 mustang. Im going to sell it and buy a better version. I want it to be within 1999 to 2004. My question is, should i buy the gt and build it up over time or buy a cobra. Which would be cheaper in the end?

I can't say it's better but it's more satisfying (building up a GT). When I bought my GT three years ago it was plain, no mods what so ever. After three years (and alot of money) I've made my car into what I wanted it to be. Good luck in your decision..

This.
Assuming you are shooting for reasonable power goals, it's probably cheaper to build what you have rather than go buy someone else's problems. Aside from the motor stuff, anything you have to upgrade on the GT, you do on the V6 the same way - so it's the same end cost. And for the out of pocket you'll pay to get up to the 4.6L motor, you could make MORE power by spending that difference on the current 3.8L.
Your call.
