Default Is a tune worth it with a manual?

I've read a lot about getting a tuner and am drawn most to a Bama SCT from AM. However, from what I've read you "really notice a difference with an automatic" but I've never read a post that says the same with a manual.

If you have any experience with what I am looking to do could you please comment.

Cheers

Well. My DYNO TUNE using a SCT chip made my 5 speed alot more alive. Throttle response is excellent and I gained more HP from it..

Tunes are good for auto and manual

I never got a mail-order tune from BAMA though...Id rather make sure the tune is good while on a dyno with true air/fual ratio.

Yes, in my experience it is worth it. I bought a Delta Force Sniper kit for my stang and it works wonders. You can tweak Air/Fuel ratio and tune for any performance add-ons. I have a 99 GT and added Gears, CAI, TB and Plenum among a few other things and the performance tune made a world of difference. If you google tuners you can find some reviews about different ones that will tell you what they can do for you. But just be sure you understand at least the basics before you mess with the ECU program. Because you can damage your engine if you mess up the tune. FInd one that is user friendly, the Delta Force has 3 options and the Sniper software is about as user friendly as you can get with a tuner. it asks you about 30 different questions then builds a tune for you. Then you can go back and tweak it if needed.

You've heard correctly my friend. Bama's 93 race tune is very potent

Thanks for all of the replies.

I should have mentioned that I only have 91 octane available in my area.

Does this change the sentiment much?

They claim the higher the octane, the more of a gain but a 91 tune will still be leaps and bounds over the factory tune

The 07 GTCS I just bought shows that the first owner (I am the 3rd) bought a diablo tuner when he put the Raidair intake & Corsa X pipe, cat back exhaust on it. 2nd owner didn't get the tuner when she bought it. How would I find out what the tune is on the car. I would like the 91 tune as I plan to put some long range miles on this car. Whats my best bet ...
