What's going on bros I just got the engine pulled out of my 1993 Notchback's engine bay, so now I'm trying to decide what I should put in. I want something that will make around 400-450 horsepower on a clean block.. No turbo or fancy stuff for now seeing how my budget is around $2,000. It had a 4 cylinder engine in it before.. If you guys can help it would be smooth I want something that doesn't involve much modification to what I said I'm working with. I'm also curious to know what I should consider doing if my budget is $2,000 and I want the simplest set-up from engine to tranny to rear end. I run a mechanic shop so most of the labor will be free.

Swapping from a weenie 4-banger to a big block 8 is gonna cost a chit load more than $2k, it's good you can do your own labor but can you get cheap parts too? You're gonna need a whole new driveline including rear end, your front suspension won't handle the weight, the cooling system needs upgrading, yada yada..
