Default Removing Air bag junk, How much weight saved VS Time and effort

I was wondering how much weight would be dropped if I deleted all the air bag crap on my car. I dont like them anyways.

All the parts that I KNOW OF that are part of the SRS system is the two sensors in the front, the igition coil in the steering wheel, the two air bags and the blue sensor box on the trans hump. Is there anything else that I missing? Other sensors?

Now I found a Fiberglass cover to go over the hole for the passenger side of the car but is there anything aftermarket to go in place of the steering wheel air bag and ignition coil.
Are there aftermarket steering columns that I can use? I hate the huge heavy stock steering comumn that doesnt even appear to be that safe. If I got an aftermarket one then I could get an aftermarket steering wheel (But there arent that many that look better then stock.)

Does anyone know how much weight I would save in doing this? I am guessing about 35lbs but I dont know for sure. Losing weight on this car is one of my main priorities.

Thanks again guys.

Well any car that came with airbags must retain the airbags for saftey purposes. I read somewhere its a major fine if you are caught with the airbags removed when they were orginally equipped with them.

wont do much to your performance and isn't really smart. Air bags r there for a reason. Airbags do help if you get into a head on colision,

It is not illegal to remove air bags, it's your car you can what you want, it's not a law like seat belts.

Sure they are there for a reason but it sounds like this is more of a street/strip car any ways so what does it really matter? He is trying to lose weight and did not ask if he should do it or not, I am sure he knows the risks.

Don't argue with the idiot. Let him remove the air bags, get into an accident, and ****ing die like a ***. Mustang is not a car to crash in to begin with, and once you start removing safety restrains, you really have a death wish.

Weight saving. Remove the roof liner. Idiot!
