X-Charger Q's

Hello, I am looking to X-Charge my bone stock 2007 v6 and was looking for a little advice.

With the power that the supercharger will provide I am partially worried that my stock rear-end will not support the power for very long. Is it absolutely essential that I swap for an 8.8" Rear-end or is it possible that I can run it on the stock rear-end for awhile until I get the money to upgrade?

While on the subject of drive-train: While I don't think it's "necessary" to drop a larger transmission in to support the increase in horsepower, I'd like to get a general opinion on it as well.

Now, I had heard a couple people say on various sites about running forged internals when using a supercharger (Namely X-Charger). While I hope this is not the case, I don't have the know-how to rule it out officially. I thought that with it still burning just gas and air that internals wouldn't be a problem.

Seeing as this is my one and only car at the moment, I want to upgrade it's horsepower for a little fun here and there but nothing something that is going to suck the longevity out of the vehicle, because it is my daily driver.

Thanks again.

Stock rear end should be OK for a little while at least, as long as you're not hammering the throttle relentlessly.
Have you seen gas prices lately? With a blower your car is gonna swill gas way more than it is now,, PREMIUM grade gas at that

This thread will get a lot more views and help if you post this again in the 2005-2011 V6 section...here: https://mustangforums.com/forum/v6-s...discussion-48/

Alright, thanks. Looked around a little bit but didn't catch the 4.0 section I guess.

-I'd recommend an 8.8 at some point, it's a very good upgrade. You'll be fine for a little bit as long as you're not beating on it though.

-Auto or manual trans? The manual T-5 leaves much to be desired, the 3650 in the V6 is similar to the one in the GTs, so it can handle some power.

-Forged internals are not necessary. A lot of people are running blowers on stock 4.0 motors

-There are a lot of people running X-Chargers with well over 100k miles. The 4.0 seems like it's a pretty stout motor

Check out the 4.0 section as suggested. You'll get more advice there
