Sanding my wheels and looking for advice
I'm currently in the process of sanding my summer set of wheels (Bullitts that I bout off of Craigslist) so that I can paint them black to match my theme.
It has been going okay so far, but it is terribly slow. I'm talking about an hour per spoke at the moment. I'm currently sanding them by hand with a large and small block wrapped in 220 grit sand paper. Is there an easier way to do this? I have access to a sander that runs off an air compressor, but it only has 80 and 60 grit pads to it, which sound a bit too aggressive.
Also, I started using 320 before switching over to 220 to speed things up. Should I go back over the 220 areas with 320 before painting, or will you not be able to tell once it is painted?
Thanks in advance. I feel as if I have bitten off a little more than I cwn chew with this project.
