Unhappy 2010 gt 4.6 engine swaped into a 2004 gt

Hey guys,
I'm a new member here. My name is David, I'm 25 and just returned from a deployment overseas with the Marine Corps.

My car is a 2004 mustang gt 5speed. I sucked water into my cold air intake and bent two connecting rods, shattered two piston heads and bent my crank shaft all before I deployed. When I came back last week I found out my transmission was stolen from my buddies house where I was storing my parts! So yeah, now I am trying to find a used engine and transmission to get it running again. So here is a question for you...

I came across a 2010 4.6 for a good price, is it compatible with my 2004?

I think with the right motor mounts it will fit, but you need a new computer for the install to work.

If you can get the wiring harness and PCM then it should work with little modification.

Welcome and good luck with the motor, I would say go with a 4v motor for the replacement

For $6999 you can get a new coyote 5.0 crate motor from ford racing see here:
