3.55 or 3.73 gears?! Most of the topics covering this only address dragging or beating Camaro's.

I'm interested in tracking.

Sure the others are fun but I think this generation of Mustangs can take corners quite well so I want to do Auto Cross and some of the local track days. So should I worry about running out of gears with the 3.73's or are my fears unfounded.

I'm not sure how the new 6 speed transmission works with the final drive but i went from 3.33's (stock 08) to 3.73's and the difference is astounding. I think you can't really go wrong with 3.73's since they're not as aggressive as 4.10's and not as lame as the base final drive ratio.

3.73's!!!! No question. My favorite gears I've driven in any car with a T56 that wasn't steep geared like the MN12's in the Z06's/GTO's.
