Car Won't start please help
I have an 03 mustang 3.8l v6. So about 4 days ago my ac compressor stopped working and the clutch barely spins. But about 2 days ago I noticed a loud very loud weird noise for about 5-10 seconds when I would first start my car. Now I do not know what that was caused by or anything. So most recently I drove to work and about 3-4 hours later went to start my car and it turned and turned and turned and nothing. AAA came out and he bleeding a little fuel out and it started. Now today my car won't start. I tried to do what he did and I got it started once left it on for 10-15 minutes in the garage and then turned it off and waited about 2-3 minutes and tried to start it again and nothing. Please help me diagnose this problem, I am watching my parent's place for them while they are visiting my grandfather b/c he is about to pass and I don't want to worry them I just have no other way of transportation. Thanks in advance

Also when I try to bleed fuel out now nothing comes out at all except for the first half a second even if I engage the fuel pump on like 5 times in a row.

Sounds like a bad fuel pump to me, they will whine really loud when they are going out/already out.

Well it really sounded like the noise was coming from under my hood possibly the ac compressor, but w/e the case may be I have to find a way to get my car to the shop or Im going to be stuck here so is thier anything I can do

I don't know how bleeding the fuel system would help start the car. You want pressure, not less. What exactly did the guy do?
Start with the basics. Check all of the fuses. Swap the fuel pump relay with another known good relay. Rent a fuel pressure gauge from your local auto parts store (you get your money back when you return the gauge) and run a fuel pressure test. There are a ton of articles online and video's on youtube on how to do this. Its a universal test, so the only difference between make/model is the location to plug the gauge into the fuel rail. If the fuel pressure is low, don't automatically assume its a bad fuel pump. It is more likely that its a leak in the fuel system somewhere between the fuel injectors and the fuel tank/pump. A stuck open/leaky injector or leaky fuel line could easily cause poor fuel pressure issues. Good luck... |
Looks like this is a double post:

Also check the fuel filter.....they can get clogged over a period of time. That is a cheap/easy fix.
