Hard to shift after short shifte installation
my car is a 05 V6 mutang.
Got steeda economic shifter.(need to reuse the factory parts)
also changed the tranny fluid. used Mercon/DEX III ATF (according to the manual)
after done, I can shift very smoothly,
when the engine is OFF, and clutch pedal pressed down.
If I don't pree the clutch pedal, it's hard to get into gears
when engine is ON, it's very hard to get into gears, any gear, feels like something jammed. Have to force it in. But after it is IN, (and with clutch pedal still down), it's very smooth and easy to get into any gear without any problem.
But everytime I need to change gear, and press the clutch pedal, and shift, it's hard to get in.
My guess is either the shifter is not aligned correctly (???) or the tranny fluid is wrong. (still feels strange to use ATF in manual tranny.)
Is ATF thicker than MTF? have no idea about those things. if it's because of the wrong oil, i'll try to change it.
If its the installation of the shifter, that's more complicated. But why I can shift very smooth when engine OFF, does that mean the shifter is OK?
or are the synchronizer bad? but it doesn't seems right that every gear is eqaually hard to shift in...
THanks
