i have an 84 3.8 v 6, that will run great till it gets hot, then stopped at a light it will run rough and want to stall. once i get going again, it will run fine and won't do it again for awhile. like an on off thing. when cold starts right up idles great.

heres what i've done to the car before this started.

new long block, all hoses belts, airfilter, auto tranny rebuilt, waterpump, carb/efi rebuilt, fuel filter, distributer pigtail, exhaust ,plugs, wires, cap and rotor, electric idle mechanisim, probably forgeting something.

i've put alot of cash into this car, runs good otherwise.

it was also sitting for say 15 years, i drained the tank and put dry gas in it. it did have water in the fuel, puled the carb off and was all under it, little droplets. could there still be water in it, making it do this?
